Garland, Texas has never been the same since my birth on May 4, 1970. I am the oldest of four. The other three, equally rambunctious children and I, grew up in a very fun loving household. I am the only boy, so protecting and harassing my sisters was and continues to be, a most favorite pastime of mine.

In 1992 I graduated College from the University of Texas at Austin. While working full time through college as a bellman for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt offered me the opportunity to advance into management. I worked my way through the company and when I left 11 years later I was the Corporate Manager of Information Systems at their Chicago headquarters. From that rich experience, I have an extensive technical background in both computer network engineering and hospitality management which continues to serve me well today. Now almost 12 years into my Real Estate career, I have accumulated a wide variety of Real Estate experience. In that time, I have achieved the following accomplishments:
My Mother grew up in the Chalk Creek area of Nathrop and went to school in Buena Vista. My Grandmother, “Mrs. Bailey” was a first grade teacher in Buena Vista for 20 years before retiring. I still run into people all the time that remember being in her class and they always smile warmly when they think of her. At one time, probably during the 60’s, my Grandfather was the only plumber in Buena Vista and later started Bailey plumbing. Under different ownership today, that company still continues to thrive. He had a voice like Marty Robbins and used to sing to us as kids and take me fishing, we all miss them both. Since the early 70’s my family not only frequented the area to visit my grandparents, but we owned a wonderful cabin in Alpine and spent the holidays and summers exploring all the wonders of Chaffee County. Finally, on a long held promise to my Mother, my Father moved her back to the area in 1992.
In 1994 my Father, Mike Lockett, started Collegiate Peaks Realty. Over the next few years he spoke often about me joining the firm and after much thought about the benefits of raising my two girls in a small town atmosphere, I joined the firm as his partner in 1999. It was to be the best move I have ever made.
My other love is teaching and training others. I am an Instructor and Range Master for a large firearms training facility in Nevada that dedicates itself to providing the most state of the art firearms and tactics training to law enforcement, military, and civilians. I am qualified to instruct courses in handgun, shotgun, sub gun, and M16. I have had the pleasure of donating, and continue to donate training to the local law enforcement community. And last but not least I also enjoy the following activities: scuba diving (certified Rescue and nitrox diver), swimming (ex University of Texas swimmer), cooking, working out, yoga, mountain biking, hiking, running, and most of all exploring all the riches of this beautiful area with my two remarkable girls Tyler (11) and Caitie (9). They would also have me add coloring, painting, sewing, playing games, puzzling, reading books to them, geocaching, rock hunting, and anything else they like to do.
Basically, I have a truly wonderful life. Thank you for taking the time to read about it.
